The potential of YouTube is unmistakable in so many ways. From sharing a birthday wish to a far away family member, to telling your students what will be coming in the week ahead. YouTube offers a vehicle to share your passion and energy with your students in online courses and a way for them to share their work with you. The responses I have heard from students about having a teacher actually talk to them in an online class are not to be underestimated. It works and you can do it.
Here is the “How to Guide” from the people at YouTube. There are countless other guides by all sorts of folks on the internet. Use Google to search for “YouTube Tutorial” and see what you find.
Below is an example of a YouTube video I recorded at the bottom of the Grand Canyon with a Flip Video camera. So easy, and it is a very powerful tool. This recording was done just prior to presenting at an educator’s conference in Montana.
